Below you will find all the details about the QAL:

1. Sew Sweet QAL rules:

* first block in Sew Sweet QAL will be posted on 01.10.2014 and the last one on 29.10.2014 (you can find the detailed schedule below)
* in addition to 5 PP blocks, there will be a tutorial for a PP writing 'Sew Sweet' and for a mini quilt (which you can see above).
* each of the 5 PP blocks will be free for download for a week after publication date through Craftsy; after that time, blocks will be available in my Craftsy and Etsy shops

* starting 05-Nov-2014, a linky will be open, so that you can link your projects made with Sew Sweet QAL blocks (one project per person). It can be anything made with the blocks, not only mini quilt, but it has to be a finished project. Photos of unfinished PP blocks will be deleted from the linky.
* linky will be closed on 19-Nov-2014, and from all submitted projects 3 winners (the number of the winners can be changed if there are not enough submissions) will be chosen by the Guest Judge

Forest QAL contest winners!

I just received the email from our guest judge, Eleanor Grosch with the list of 3 winners of the Forest QAL contest. I was amazed by all the wonderful quilts which were submitted and I have no doubts that the judge had some difficult job to do, picking the top 3. Congratulations to all (and expect emails from me soon):

Sa juz wyniki konkursu Lesnego QALu! Wlasnie otrzymalam maila od jurorki Eleanor Grosch, ktora wytypowala 3 pierwsze miejsca (napisala tez male wytlumaczenie, czemu akurat te a nie inne prace wybrala). My u Julka wybralysmy zwyciezce na najlepszy uklad quiltu a Pan Random pomogl wybrac dodatkowe 3 nagrody. Serdeczne wszystkim gratuluje (maile powysylam jak wroce z pracy)!

#1 Grand Winner - Teje @ Nero's Post and Patch with her quilt 'Fantasy Forest'

Eleanor Grosch wrote: 'This one was my favorite overall because it broke out of the expected grid structure.  I love the creative use of space and color and the reference to the web of life.  The fabric choices are also really lovely and tonal.'

prizes:
- $50 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate
- $40 Marmalade Fabrics gift certificate
- $20 Pink Chalk Fabrics gift certificate
- 5 Kona cotton FQs from Szmatka Latka

#2 place - Sarah @ {no} hats in the house with her quilt 'once upon a time... {in a forest}'

Eleanor Grosch wrote: 'The paleness of the quilt initially stood out as a detriment among so many colorful entries, but it has a lovely quiet beauty to it that allows me to see it as a whole first and then look closer.  Though it relies on the grid structure heavily, the muted tones let me see the abstractions used.'

prizes:
- $50 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate
- $20 Pink Chalk Fabrics gift certificate
- 3 FQs from Flights of Fancy collection from Szmatka Latka

#3 place - Xementyna @ Robotkowy Kacik Doris with her 'Woodpecker tote'

Eleanor Grosch wrote: 'I love this sweet quilted tote bag design. The forest theme is carried out well throughout and the stitching looks really expert.  This one was hard to ignore as a quality item!  I love the clever and accurate use of texture and color in the fabric choices.'

prizes:
- $50 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate
- $20 Pink Chalk Fabrics gift certificate
- Fiskars scissors from Szmatka Latka

Wannabe Feathers {Modern Mini Quilt Challenge}

I was actually thinking how to start this post. I wanted to say 'Hello!' to all the new readers who are visiting from Ellison Lane's blog, but also to all who already follow and read my blog regularly. So... I'd just say that I'm happy that you decided to drop by today to see what's new :)

When I first saw the info about this edition of Mini Quilt Challenge on Ellison's blog, for the moment I thought that I will not sew anything new, just add some previously made mini. I didn't have any good idea then, and to be honest, I didn't sew for quite a long time. What I haven't realise, was how long it has been since I've made a 'whole' project - quilted and bound. The last was the Dreamcatcher wallhanging and it was at the beginning of March. Initially, I thought to present it as a part of a challenge, but unfortunately it is too big, so I had two choices left - not to participate at all or to sew something new.
I guess a challenge should be challenging ;) After some hours of thinking and two more spent on choosing fabrics I started to sew. The mini measures 24" x 20" and I named it 'Wannabe Feathers' (well... the quilting was suppose to look like feathers ;) :

As I had a camera on my sewing table I made some WIP shots:

Akurat mialam aparat w pokoju, w ktorym szyje, wiec cyknelam kilka fotek podczas szycia:

Thank you again for visiting and I hope you liked what you saw ;)
Dobrze wrocic do szycia po dlugiej przerwie :)
