Embroidered christmas ornaments and quilted table runner

For those who would like to adopt Edward the Bat, step by and join my

Something new today. You don't think that I sit at home and don't do anything (read: sew like crazy) there...

I did some embroidered christmas ornaments. As I'm always a little bit late than the others, I will not have many of them (they are quite time consuming), but as an addition to some christmas gift/card they will do. I do not plan to hang them on the christmas tree really, cause my cats would eat them (not mentioning that I don't have a christmas tree at all... :P ).

To make them, I use my best felt with 60% of wool which is dyed with natural plant dyes. This felt is amazing. Love those rich earth colours - deep greens and blues, dirty orange and dark red... ^.^

I also did a table runner for a swap which I signed myself to quite a while ago. It will start it's trip to Australia on Saturday :) I hope my swap partner will be happy...

I didn't have a great idea for the back, so I just decided to keep it solid and dark - to make quilting more visible:

Hugs :)

Christmas gifts swap

Hello! after a long break :)

Some time ago, I joined a Christmas gifts swap on forum szyjemy-po-godzinach.pl. Untill 5th of December I couldn't show what I had prepaired for my swap partner, but now (as it's 5th already) - I can show off a little bit ^.^

But first I will show you what I've received:

A beautifully wrapped set of 5 FQ from Lecien's Floral Collection :]
Have to plan what to make out of them

So... my gifts were:

- violet fel coin purse:

- cat keychain:

- cherry stone pillow Rosmary the Reindeer:

and all together:

It's so nice to have a purpose for sewing :) Not only stack everything in the box.

Hope you had a nice weekend

Showing off :) Mittens and a shawl

Today nothing new from me. I have lots of other things (unfortunately) to do than sewing, but I wanted to show you two things. Fist are mittens, which I got as a gift from one of the friends from my favourite sewing forum: Szyjemy Po Godzinach. Of course I wanted to do something in exchange. You remember my cake pincussion which I made some time ago? This one:

It was made in that purpose.

But... here are the mittens:

Aren't they lovely? You can visit the mittens' author's blog HERE. Many treasures there! She's making amazing bed quilts.

A second thing I wanted to show you is a handmade shawl which I bought two weeks ago. When I saw it on SzuflANNdia I knew I had to have it. Direct link to the shawl is HERE. I could not resist those beautiful colours ^.^ In reality it's even prettier than on the photos. How can you not fall in love?
Visit her blog and see for yourself...

I tried to make some photos at my home, but Mr Cat decided, that he also loves the shawl:

very much :)

Have a nice evening and I will try to show some new creation of my own soon.

Christmas tree pillow

Well, time is running, I have lots of free time this week, so I try to use it the best I can. I started this pillow two or three days ago, but finished yesterday in the evening. Tadaam... Christmas tree (and presents' boxes) pillow [somehow colours on the photos are not the best]. And small update. I joined with my pillow the Winter Challange on a blog Patchworkowa Gwiazda (Patchwork Star). You can read more about it HERE .

This time Xanthos was around for quality check:

I like the 3D ( :P ) effect of bows sewn on the top of the presents' boxes:

Whole pillow is quilted. On the upper part I quilted a 'bottom' of the forest for christmas trees and some stars in the higher part, unfortunately, I couldn't make any good photo :( You have to belive me ;) I think it's the fault of this fabric.

And the traditional back part. I think I have to add one more binding in the middle, 'cause those two are to wide apart from each other:

Hope you liked it :)
Best regards and till next time

Time do make Christmas Gifts - Christmas Wreath, cherry stone pillow and tea wallet

So, after a long break in showing my craft (there are those certain circumstainces, which do not allow you to spend so much time on sewing...) time to correct myself ;)

As Christmas is slowly approaching, it's time to start make Christmas gifts. First is a Reindeen Christmas Wreath (not sure yet for whom, I just had to do it :D ):

Next is a cherry stone pillow (you can warm up the inner pillow in microwave or in owen), for my friend's baby daugher. It was suppose to be a polar bear, but looks more like a mouse:

And the last, a tea bag wallet. A pefrect gift fot tea lovers for those long cold evenings:

That's it for now :D Next will follow soon...

Best wishes
