WIPs in Winter

Christmas is slowly comming and last days I'm having a small break in 'modern' quilting. I'm trying to focus on two pictorial quilts which I want to make this Winter. The top of one quilt is almost finished - still have some painting to do, then putting all the pieces in the right place and quilting at the end. Few sneak peaks for you just to prove that I didn't stop sewing :)

There will be a lot of flowers on this quilt top (half of my sewing room's floor is taken by the quilt top and the flowers scattered around):

Swieta tuz tuz, ja tam juz prezenty dawno popakowalam i czekam na wyjazd do Polski. W szyciu 'normalnych quiltow' robie zimowa przerwe. Na tapecie nadal duzo kwiatow... to znaczy powinnam powiedziec na podlodze *wzdech*... na wiekszej czesci podlogi... Quilt i kwiaty sa na podlodze, wiec gdy musze dojsc do szafy z materialami musze sie nagimnastykowac zeby niczego nie podeptac (i nie, wcale nie mam zamiaru posprzatac dopoki nie skoncze :D ). Gora quiltu juz juz prawie skonczona. Jeszcze troche malowania i ukladania/przekladania/i-ponownego-przekladania kwiatow i trzeba bedzie mysle o pikowaniu (a samo myslenie o tym, ze trzeba bedzie myslec o pikowaniu przyprawia mnie o bol glowy, bo pomyslow brak... a zle dobranym pikowaniem niestety bardzo latwo zepsuc nawet najpiekniejszy quilt).

A small piece of the top - I still have to play a bit, change some flowers, remove them here and add somewhere else etc., untill the top will look like i want it to:

With the help of my dearest BF I have a big and awesome lightbox. It makes (quilter's) life so much easier:

Chyba z rok temu zrobilismy u TZtem podswietlany 'stolik' (lightbox) wlasnie z mysla o pracy nad tym quiltem. Naczekal sie biedaczek ale zdal egzamin na 5+.

It's one of the older photos. I've already painted this part, but I've spent quite few days sitting, painting (no, not only that small piece there) and listening to music:

Zdjecie juz dosc wiekowe. Ten kawalek jest juz dawno pomalowany ale nad podobnymi spedzilam kilka dni. Siedzac, malujac, sluchajac muzyki...

I'm already planning the next quilt and I wanted customly dyed piece of fabric for the background. When I was making 'Among the red flowers' quilt, I bought beautiful gradient dyed fabric from Beatrix @ handgefaerbtestoffe.de. This time (as I didn't find the exact fabric which I was looking for on her website) I contacted Beatrix and asked if she would dye a custom piece for me. First try was the top fabric. It's amazing, but that was not the exact colour which I was looking for. After few emails Beatrix decided to give it a second try with a different dye and it worked :D The left fabric, more green one will soon become a background for the quilt! If you are looking for beautiful handdyed fabrics, I can recommend Beatrix with all my heart!

No i juz zbieram materialy do pracy nad nastepnym quiltem. Zachcialo mi sie recznie farbowanego materialu na tlo. Tlo do gejszy kupilam u Beatrix @ handgefaerbtestoffe.de wiec i tym razem sprawdzilam, czy na stronie znajde cos, co by mi pasowalo. Niestety nic takiego nie bylo ale Beatrix zgodzila sie ufarbowac material specjalnie dla mnie :) Pierwsza proba nie wyszla dokladnie jak chcialam. Material byl bardzo fajny, niestety zbyt niebieski (to ten po prawej). Natomiast druga proba to bylo to (to ten bardziej zielonkawy po lewej). Z reka na sercu polecam Beatrix tym, ktorzy szukaja cudnych recznie farbowanych materialow!
